Big Sky Local Food is a Montana company started in the summer of 2010 to connect family owned and operated farms serving the Gallatin Valley and Big Sky areas with local customers in search of fresh food year round. Our Summer Season farm to family Co-op will open in August of 2010 offering a full line of locally produced food to our founding family members.
Big Sky Local Food is a one stop shopping program for quality local food ordered from the comfort of your home. Now you can shop weekly for the sought after pasture raised beef, lamb, pork and poultry, artisan goats cheeses and a listing of local produce only before available to local Chefs. There are no required minimum or maximum orders and you do not have to order each week, this is a totally flexible on-line shopping experience.
This program works when you see frequent changes in products and limited quantities. In other words, our food is seasonal and should not be available all the time. Montana has a unique and diversified growing season and produces vegetables, meats, dairy and products that are sourced from the land upon which we live. In order to appreciate food we must understand how it is sourced and the effort that went into creating the product. When products are available from Big Sky Local Food they are fresh, in season, Montana grown, natural and delicious.
LULUS LOCAL FOOD: Concerned about the disappearance of family owned farms in Virginia, founder Molly Harris developed a system to bring naturally grown products to families and households efficiently, conveniently and cost effectively. Hence Lulus Local food was born. Named after the adventurous hen that ventured from the barnyard to greet her each morning at her doorstep, Lulus Local Food has pioneered connection between the farmer/ rancher/ or producer to the consumer. In early 2009 X-gravity was hired to automate the weekly cycle system and bring LulusLocalFood.com to Virginia. Now Big Sky Local Food has arrived and will begin to offer the same unique food shopping opportunity that has already connected over 1500 customers to their local farmers and producers in Virginia.
